When did you qualify?
Hayley qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
What is your specialist area of law? What types of cases do you deal with?
- Over 20 years’ experience in local government and private sector settings
- Manages the commercial and property teams and a member of the One Legal management team
- Monitoring officer for Stroud District Council
- Working closely with senior officers providing strategic legal advice to ensure that they achieve their objectives and commercial ventures
- Legal advisor to Ubico, a Teckal company jointly owned by eight local authorities and provide legal advice to our partners on local authority owned companies
Share a couple of professional triumphs/achievements. Have you had any cases reported locally/nationally? Won any awards for your legal work?
- Hayley is currently enrolled on the Inspire Programme via the Lawyers in Local Government network with the aim of providing aspirational leadership and inspirational governance
- In collaboration with members of the management team, we have recently introduced trainee lawyer roles to the One Legal structure. Our vision is to “grow our own” lawyers to secure the recruitment and retention of staff and to provide resilience within our teams
- Previously, Hayley has led the contracts and special projects team from a shared legal service (district law) into a newly created unitary authority along with advising senior officers on the effects of the Northamptonshire (structural changes) Order 2020 on their existing commercial arrangements
