Property Team Driving Cost-Efficient Housing Solutions across Gloucestershire by Victoria Caleb

Our property team has been working tirelessly with our partner councils to facilitate accommodation for people across Gloucestershire who present as homeless, refugees, or in urgent need of housing. With housing demand at unprecedented levels, we are committed to providing timely legal support securing suitable accommodation effectively and reducing reliance on expensive short-time solutions. We aim to make a real impact – both for those in need and for public finances.
A key part of this work includes acquiring social housing to provide sustainable solutions that reduce reliance on costly short-term placements. By streamlining legal processes and working collaboratively, we have been supporting our partner councils in securing immediate Emergency Accommodation and longer-term Temporary Accommodation, ensuring those in crisis have a safe place to stay.
By providing strategic legal advice and practical solutions, we are helping local authorities navigate complex housing demands, make informed decisions, and implement cost-effective, long-term strategies.
But the impact of this work goes far beyond just financial savings for councils. Ensuring people have access to safe, stable accommodation has one of the biggest impacts on people’s lives – providing security, dignity, and a foundation for a better future. Whether it’s helping a family move out of emergency housing into a permanent home or securing vital refuge for those fleeing crisis, the difference we make is real and lasting.
